Third Period Rally Lifts Oilers
Third period goals by T.J. Caig and Thomas Harrison lifted the Tulsa Oilers to a 2-1 win over the Wichita Thunder Saturday night in the first hockey game played in Wichita’s new Intrust Bank Arena. The win is the 18th of the season for the Oilers, coming in only their 35th game of the year, and matches the team’s win total of all of last season.
The teams battled through a scoreless first period. Paul Kelly had the only goal of the second period, giving Wichta a 1-0 lead.
The Oilers return home Sunday to host the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees at 4:05 p.m. Fans will be able to skate with the Oiler players after the game.
