Count ‘Em Games Start
Opener Fri: The Tulsa Oilers begin their 16th Central Hockey League season this Friday when they play at Amarillo at 7:05 p.m. Friday’s game begins a four game road trip to start the season for the Oilers and can be heard on KRVT AM 1270. Tune Ups: The Oilers had a couple of dramatic contests in two exhibition games. They battled from behind against Wichita trailing 2-0 going into the third period. Paul Kelly scored with six seconds left to tie the game, which Wichita eventually won in a shootout, 3-2. The Oilers then played Oklahoma City and won 5-4 in regulation time, holding off a furious Oklahoma City rally. Good Ideal: The Oilers will be on hand Wednesday afternoon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ideal Feet, located at the corner of 61st and Mingo. Roster Moves: Tulsa now has 22 players in camp, after releasing Brad Best, Jake Roadhouse, and Francis Barbuc. Coach Butch Kaebel has to reduce the roster to 19 players by opening night. The CHL allows teams to carry 19 players, while suiting up 18 (2 goalies and 16 skaters) for each game. Home Opener: The 2007-08 version of the Oilers will be unveiled to fans at the Tulsa Convention Center on Friday November 2nd against the Oklahoma City Blazers at 7:35 p.m. Tickets Here: Oiler 2007-08 season tickets are available by calling the Oilers at (918) 632-7825.
