Road Trip Starts Right
The Tulsa Oilers fired a a season high 50 shots on goal on their way to a 4-3 victory over the Amarillo Gorillas Wednesday afternoon. The win also puts the Oilers within one point of the fifth and final playoff spot in the CHL’s Northern Conference, and only three points out of fourth place.
Jake Riddle, Tyler Butler, Luke Stauffacher, and Adam Bartholomay scored for Tulsa which was a perfect 1-for-1 on the power play. Marco Emond made 37 saves in goal for Tulsa.
David Nimmo scored twice for Amarillo which got a goal from Anthony Battaglia with just 1:23 left, forcing the Oilers to withstand a furious rush to hang on for the victory.
The Oilers continue a six game road trip Friday in Colorado.
