Power Plays Doom Oilers

A dramatic late rally wasn’t enough for the Tulsa Oilers who fell 4-3 to the Texas Brahmas Friday night. Texas scored all of its goals on the power play.

After James Hiebert had given Texas a 4-1 lead just 15 seconds into the third period the Oilers answered with goals by Adam Bartholomay and Dan Riedel just 1:30 apart. The Oilers were unable to get the tying goal in the final 13:28.

It didn’t take long for the Oilers to get started. Riedel scored on a power play just 20 seconds into the game. The Brahmas answered that with a  power play goal of their own with just more than five minutes left in the period when Jason Deitsch blasted home a rebound.

The second period also featured two power play goals, unfortuantely for the Oilers, both by Texas. Elias Godoy took a long feed and deked goaltender Trevor Cann sliding home his third goal of the season. Deitsch then got his second goal of the night when his centering pass glanced in off Cann’s stick.

The Oilers return to action next Friday for their first home game in 20 days when they host the Wichita Thunder at 7:35 p.m. at the BOK Center.
