Oilers Answer Call For Jerry’s Kids
The Tulsa Oilers will once again be front and center in the effort to help the local Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy telethon.
Head coach Bruce Ramsay, defenseman Derek Eastman, right wing Dan Riedel, and broadcaster Steve McCall will be answering telephones on Monday September 6th during local cut ins of the nationally televised fund raiser. The Oilers will be answering phones from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. The telethon airs on KOKI TV, Fox 23.
“We always have a great time meeting some of the kids who are fighting MD, and they really are an inspiration to us,” Ramsay, who will be starting his second season as the Oilers coach, and also answered phones last year for the telethon, said. “It really puts it in perspective how lucky we are, and to see the kids faces light up when they meet our players is just incredible.”
The Oilers had the second highest point total increase in the CHL last season under Ramsay, who was in his first season with the Oilers. They will have 33 home games at the BOK Center in the 2010-11 season, starting on Friday October 15th against the Wichita Thunder.
Season tickets for 2010-11 with plans for as low as $26 a month are now available by calling the Oilers office at 918-632-PUCK (7825).
