Ice Girl Auditions Set

They have danced and skated their way into the hearts of Tulsa Oilers fans and the Oilers Ice Girls will be holding auditions for the 2010-11 squad on Saturday July 31st.
The tryouts will be in two sessions with a morning skating session at the Oilers Ice Center (64th and Mingo) with registration starting at 9:30 a.m. the dance portion of the tryout will take place at Gold’s Gym Broken Arrow facility (71st and 145th) at 1:30 that afternoon.
“In just two seasons the Ice Girls have become an integral part of our entertainment presentation,” Oilers general manager Taylor Hall said. “Now it’s hard to imagine what an Oiler game would be like without them.”
There is a $20 registration fee for the audition. Applicants must be 18 years old by July 31st. They should bring a headshot photograph, and proof of age along with the registration fee. For the dance portion, applicants should have a half top/sports bra with a t-shirt over it, dance shorts and dance shoes or tennis shoes. They may want to bring a light jacket for the morning skating portion of the tryouts.
“We’ll be looking for ladies that have a good personality and aren’t shy about meeting the public,” Ice Girl coordinator Jessica Barrett said. “Along with the skating and dancing, interacting with our fans is the most important part of being an Oilers Ice Girl.”

The Oilers had the second highest point total increase in the CHL this season under head coach Bruce Ramsay, who was in his first season with the Oilers. They will have 33 home games at the BOK Center in the 2010-11 season.
