Although it was the Tulsa Oilers against the Mississippi RiverKings at Tulsa’s BOK Center on New Year’s Eve, it came down to this, Adam Bartholomay 3, Matt Summers 2.

They were the only players who scored goals for their teams, as Bartholomay’s hat trick lifted the Oilers to an overtime victory.

While he was taking care of the scoring, Trevor Cann stopped 44 of the 46 shots he faced. Bartholomay had staked the Oilers to a  2-0 lead, before Summers scored twice in the final 6:13 of regulation time (the second one with one minute left to play) to force the overtime.

But Barthomomay ended the game and 2009 for the Oilers at 1:16 of overtime.

The same two teams meet Saturday at 7:35 p.m. at the BOK Center.
