Whataburger Whatafooddrive
Whataburger has teamed up with the Tulsa Oilers to help the Tulsa area food bank in time for Thanksgiving. Fans who attend the Oilers next two home games (Friday Nov. 21 vs. Mississippi at 7:35 p.m. and Sunday Nov. 23 vs. Wichita at 4 p.m.) can contribute to the Whataburger food drive and will receive a coupon good for a free Whataburger. At each game, fans who bring two can food items to donate to the food drive will receive their coupon for the free Whataburger. Fans who donate on Friday, are also eligible to donate again on Sunday. In addition to the food drive, fans can take advantage of the Oilers Family Four pack. That is four tickets, four hot dogs, and four soft all for $59. Great Skate!
Fans who have wondered what it is like to be part of the show in the magnificent new BOK center can get a little taste of Sunday afternoon following the Oilers game with the Wichita Thunder.
The Oilers and Wichita face off in a 4 p.m. Central Hockey League contest, and following the game, fans will be able to skate on the BOK Center ice with the Oilers. There is no charge for the skating session, and skates are available to rent for $2 a pair. Fans who have their own ice skates are encouraged to bring them.

RiverKings Power Past Oilers, 3-1
Mike Beausoleil extended his point streak to eight games with an unassisted third period goal, but that was the only offensive highlight for the Tulsa Oilers in a 3-1 loss to the Mississippi RiverKings Tuesday night.
Mississippi got a first period power play goal from Garrett Larson and a second period power play goal from Bobby Chaumont to take a 2-0 lead into the third period. After Beausoleil 's goal, Mississippi sealed the game with goal by Dane Marshall with 1:07 left. Mississippi ended the game with a 19 second power play and went 2-for-5 on the power play in the game.

Oilers Rally For 6-5 Win
Michel Beausoleil's two goals and three assist performance complimented a 53 save performance by Guy St. Vincent, giving the Tulsa Oilers a rousing 6-5 come from behind victory over the Colorado Eagles Saturday night at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colorado.
The win is the Oilers first road victory of the season, and also Colorado's first home ice loss.
Colorado had taken a 4-1 lead by the five minute mark in the second, period on a pair of goals by Ryan Tobler, and single markers from Brett Hammond and Ed Magrane. But Kelly Sickavish, Jake Riddle, and Brendon Hodge were able to bring the Oilers even by the end of the second period.
Kevin Ulanski scored a power play goal with 7:36 left to play, but Riddle's second goal of the night just a minute and a half later set ... more
First Period Does In Oilers
Four first period goals by the Colorado Eagles, the first one coming just 26 seconds into the game, sparked them to a 7-3 win over the Oilers Tuesday night in Colorado.
Each team scored twice in the second period, and once in the third, as the Oilers could never overcome the early deficit. Trailing 5-0, Jake Riddle scored for the third time in the last two games, a short handed goal late in the second period. Jeff Christian scored with two seconds left in the second period, and Bobby Reed scored in the third period, to pull the Oilers to within 6-3.
Greg Pankewicz did most of the damage for Colorado with three goals and an assist. Steve Haddon, Riley Nelson, Brett Hammond, and Aaron Schneekloth also scored for Colorado.

Riddle Me This
Jake Riddle scored his first two goals of the season and added an assist as the Tulsa Oilers defeated the Amarillo Gorillas 3-1 Saturday night at the BOK Center.
The win is the second for the Oilers in their last three games. Brendon Hodge had the Oilers' other goal along with an assist, and Michel Beausoleil had two assists for Tulsa.
The Oilers begin a three game road trip Tuesday at Colorado. Their next home game is Friday November 21st against the Mississippi RiverKings. ... more
‘Bugs Pester Oilers, 3-1
A three goal second period outburst by the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs was enough to lift them to a 3-1 win over the Tulsa Oilers Friday night at the Century Tel Center in Bossier City.
After Chris Kovalcik's rebound goal off a shot from Mike Beausoleil was the only goal of the first period, the Oilers were unable to sustain the momentum after the first intermission. Bossier-Shreveport outshot the Oilers 25-9 in the second period and got a power play goal from Travis Clayton, a delayed penalty goal from J.J. Martin and the final tally from Tyrel Lucas.
In spite of the loss, Kevin St. Pierre made 41 saves in goal for the Oilers. Tulsa drops to 1-4-1 on the young season and will host the Amarillo Gorillas Saturday at 7:35 p.m. at the BOK Center. ... more
Oilers Bring Down The Thunder
Michel Beausoleil scored two goals, including the 200th of his professional career, in leading the Tulsa Oilers to a 3-1 victory over the Wichita Thunder Saturday night.
Beausoleil's goals came 3:08 apart in teh first period and Brendon Hodge assisted on both of them. The Oilers sealed the win with an empty net goal by Jeff Christian with two seconds left, with Beausoleil picking up an assist on that goal.
The only Thunder shot to elude Kevin St. Pierre was a power play goal by Jason Duda in the third period.

Halloween Horror
The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs got two goals a piece from four different players en route to a 9-3 win over the Tulsa Oielrs Friday night at the BOK Center.
Tyrel Lucas, Neil Clark, Chris Brassard, and Travis Clayton all scored twice for the visitors who also got a single tally from Kevin Cooper.
Boby Reed scored the first goal for the OIoers who trailed just 3-1 after the first period. But penalty troubles again plagued the Oilers, as Bossier-Shreveport scored on five of seven power play opportunities. They stretched their lead to 9-1 before Brendon hodge and Jason Lawmaster rounded out the scoring.
The Oilers wrap up a three game homestand Saturday night against the Wichita Thunder at 7:35.

Oilers Drop Home Opener
It was a perfect night, except for the score.
The Tulsa Oilers inaugurated the BOK Center, with their largest crowd and second largest crowd in CHL history, Saturday night, but the crowd of 16,928 couldn't help the Oilers overcome the Oklahoma City Blazers who defeated Tulsa 5-1.
After a scoreless first period, the teams swapped second period power play goals. Bill Vandermeer put the visitors on top, and the Oilers answered that with a power play goal by Chris Kovalcik.
But the third period was all Oklahoma City. Tyler Harder gave the Blazers the lead and Simon Lambert scored on both halves of a double minor power play just 1:10 apart. Robin Gomez rounded out the scoring for Oklahoma City.

BOK At Last: The Tulsa Oilers have their home opener, and the first hockey game ever in the BOK Center Saturday night when they host the Oklahoma City Blazers at 7:35 p.m. It is the Oilers’ only game this week.
For Openers: The Oilers went 0-1-1 last week, losing a shootout to Oklahoma City 3-2 on Friday night, and running into severe penalty trouble on Saturday in a 12-3 loss at Corpus Christi.
First Strike: Jason Lawmaster scored the Oilers first goal of the season, in the first period at Oklahoma City. Brendon Hodge and Jeff Christian assisted on the power play goal.

Just plain ugly.
The Tulsa Oilers lost 12-3 to the Corpus Christi IceRays Saturday night, surrendering seven third period goals, and giving up eight power play goals. The two teams combined for 219 penalty minutes.
Tulsa struck first on a power play goal by Brendon Hodge, but Corpus Christi answered on goals by Jeremy Leroux ad Jeff Grant, before Jeff Christian scored on a power play for the Oielrs to tie the game at two after one period.
The IceRays then scored the next nine goals before Kai Magnussen ended the scoring run with 7:05 left on a shorthanded goal for the Oilers. Chris richards did most of the damage for Corpus Christi with four gaols and three assists.

Oilers Drop Tough Opener, 3-2 In Shootout
The Tulsa Oilers thought they had won it.
Jeff Christian's overtime shot that beat Oklahoma City goaltender Andy Franck was ruled no goal for inadvertent goaltender interference, and then the Blazers rallied for a 3-2 shootout win in the season opener for both teams.
Jason lawmaster gave the Oielrs a 1-0 lead on a two man advantage at 16:31 of the first period. That lead held up all the way until midway through the third period when brothers Ted and Bill Vandermeer scored goals eight seconds apart giving Oklahoma City a 2-1 lead.
The Oilers kept battling and Brendon Hodge's power play blast fromt the left wing circle tied the game with 1:15 left. After Christians' goal wa s nullified, he teams battled through a thrilling final two minutes and went to a shootout.

Oilers To Broadcast All Games
The Tulsa Oilers have announced that they will be making home games available via internet broadcasts this year. It is the first time in several seasons that Oiler home games are broadcast.
“With a record crowd already expected for opening night, and the excitement of the BOK Center, and the team on the ice, we wanted to explore ways to make all the games available,” Oilers general manager Taylor Hall said. “We’re glad that we’ll be able to present our home games as well as away games this year.”

The Tulsa Oilers will start their 17th season in the revitalized Central Hockey league Friday night at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City against the Blazers. Dan Hodge has trimmed the Oilers training camp roster to 19 players, who are eager to get the season started.
“The guys are chomping at the bit to get going,” Hodge said. “It’s been awhile since some of these guys played hockey. We’re excited about playing.”
Hodge named Jeff Christian the Oilers captain, and Brendon Hodge and Jason Lawmaster alternate captains. He says defenseman Cody Hamilton will start the season on the 30 day injured reserve list as the result of a concussion suffered in the final preseason game on October 11th at Oklahoma City. Rally Falls Short
After a rather lackluster first 45 minutes in which they fell behind 4-0, the Tulsa Oilers scored the next three goals but it wasn't enough as the Oilers lost to Oklahoma City in a Central Hockey League preseason game 4-3 Thursday night at the Oilers Ice Center.
The rally started with two unusual goals. Chris Kovalcik (who scored in a shootout attempt Wednesday night at Wichita) scored on a penalty shot. Just 21 seconds later, Kelly Sickavish dumped the puck into the Blazers zone from the center ice red line, and it took a bounce past goaltender Doug Groenestege to cut the lead to 4-2.
Buoyed by the break, the Oilers pressed to get within one and were finally able to do so when Kai Magnussen jammed in a goal mouth scramble with 30 seconds to play. The same two teams play Saturda ... more
Oilers Take First Step, 6-5 In Shootout
Although it was just the first preseason game of the year, the Tulsa Oilers 6-5 shootout win over the Wichita Thunder Wednesday night had all the drama of a late season playoff rush.
The Oilers Chris Kovalcik and Kevin Hansen scored in the shootout while goaltender Kevin St. Pierre foiled all four Wichita attempts. St. Pierre had also stopped 16 of 17 shots in the first two periods, helping the Oilers claim a 3-1 lead.
Dennis Sicard and Avery Wilson scored first period goals for the Oilers who stretched the lead to 3-0 on a John Halverson goal midway through the second period. Wichita then scored the next four goals, getting three in the first 10 minutes of of the third period off Oilers' goaltender Brian Markowicz.

Game Time
After two days of banging into each other, the Tulsa Oilers will get their first look at Central Hockey League competition in a preseason game at Wichita Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
"It's time to really see what some of these guys can do," Oilers coach Dan Hodge said. "Everyone's been competitive in camp, it's always different against another team."
On Thursday October 9th, the Oilers will host an exhibition game against Oklahoma City at the Oilers Ice Center. Cost for season ticket holders who purchase tickets in advance is $10. Non season ticket holder tickets are $15. Tickets for everyone at the door the night of the game, will be $15. That will be one of three preseason games for the Oilers. Hard At It
It was hard to tell that it was only the first day of training camp for the Tulsa Oilers, preparing for their 17th Central Hockey League season.
Coach Dan Hodge ran 28 players through a number of drills and on ice situations, and was impressed with what he saw.
“I liked the effort and the intensity,” Hodge said. “These guys came to camp in shape. You can tell they were working hard over the summer. But there’s a long way to go.”
The Oilers will have another free practice session on Tuesday morning, starting at 8:30 at the Oilers Ice Center, located at 64th and Mingo.

After a rather lackluster first 45 minutes in which they fell behind 4-0, the Tulsa Oilers scored the next three goals but it wasn't enough as the Oilers lost to Oklahoma City in a Central Hockey League preseason game 4-3 Thursday night at the Oilers Ice Center.
The rally started with two unusual goals. Chris Kovalcik (who scored in a shootout attempt Wednesday night at Wichita) scored on a penalty shot. Just 21 seconds later, Kelly Sickavish dumped the puck into the Blazers zone from the center ice red line, and it took a bounce past goaltender Doug Groenestege to cut the lead to 4-2.

Oilers Take First Step, 6-5 In Shootout
Although it was just the first preseason game of the year, the Tulsa Oilers 6-5 shootout win over the Wichita Thunder Wednesday night had all the drama of a late season playoff rush.
The Oilers Chris Kovalcik and Kevin Hansen scored in the shootout while goaltender Kevin St. Pierre foiled all four Wichita attempts. St. Pierre had also stopped 16 of 17 shots in the first two periods, helping the Oilers claim a 3-1 lead.
Dennis Sicard and Avery Wilson scored first period goals for the Oilers who stretched the lead to 3-0 on a John Halverson goal midway through the second period. Wichita then scored the next four goals, getting three in the first 10 minutes of of the third period off Oilers' goaltender Brian Markowicz.

Game Time
After two days of banging into each other, the Tulsa Oilers will get their first look at Central Hockey League competition in a preseason game at Wichita Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
"It's time to really see what some of these guys can do," Oilers coach Dan Hodge said. "Everyone's been competitive in camp, it's always different against another team."
On Thursday October 9th, the Oilers will host an exhibition game against Oklahoma City at the Oilers Ice Center. Cost for season ticket holders who purchase tickets in advance is $10. Non season ticket holder tickets are $15. Tickets for everyone at the door the night of the game, will be $15. That will be one of three preseason games for the Oilers. Hard At It
It was hard to tell that it was only the first day of training camp for the Tulsa Oilers, preparing for their 17th Central Hockey League season.
Coach Dan Hodge ran 28 players through a number of drills and on ice situations, and was impressed with what he saw.
“I liked the effort and the intensity,” Hodge said. “These guys came to camp in shape. You can tell they were working hard over the summer. But there’s a long way to go.”
The Oilers will have another free practice session on Tuesday morning, starting at 8:30 at the Oilers Ice Center, located at 64th and Mingo.
